In our previous study we discussed the claims of the Bible's inspiration. In particular, how did the authors know what words to write? People have answered this question in various ways, ranging from the natural view (the Bible was written by great men with no intervention by God) to the supernatural. Two verses that emphasized key points were 2 Peter 1:21 and 2 Timothy 3:16---"holy men" being "moved" by God, and the Scriptures being "God-breathed" in their inspiration.

This coming Tuesday we'll look at the Bible's illumination and interpretation. How does it enlighten us as readers, and how is it best understood? Some important Bible passages will include 1 Corinthians 2:10-14 and 2 Peter 1:20.
